Oasis of Peace in Open Doorway, LARCH Leith Walk

Our weekly meditative service Oasis of Peace takes place in the Open Doorway in LARCH Leith Walk building (the former Pilrig St Paul’s building).

Oasis of Peace is a short service where we sing some hymns, pray for others and have a reflection or discussion on a Bible passage. It takes place in the Church on Wednesday mornings from 10.15 and lasts around half an hour. We finish with tea/coffee and a chat.

All are welcome to attend so if you’ve never been before, why not come along sometime? You will be given a very warm welcome.

Flower Calendar

If you would like to donate flowers for an anniversary, celebration or just to brighten up the church, please add your name to the Flower Calendar on the noticeboard in the halls (opposite the kitchen)

We are also looking for volunteers to arrange the flowers. If you can help, please see Kenny or Lynda.

Prayer Book

During our prayers of intercession on a Sunday we will be including names from our own Prayer Book that will be read out.

If you would like someone remembered and added to this list, please see Rob or Kenny.

Please let us know if it’s just for that Sunday or to stay on the list indefinitely.

Thursday Club Burns Supper

Saturday 25 January 2025 at 6.15pm for 6.30pm in the McLaren Halls

Everyone is welcome to our annual Burns Supper.

Pastoral Care Team

Pastoral Care Team

We are looking for members to form a new Pastoral Care Team.  Team members themselves will not be expected to undertake all pastoral care but rather to coordinate the pastoral care needs of the congregation.  Their remit includes:

  • Hospital Visits
  • Care Home Visits
  • Home Communion
  • Prayer requests
  • Flower deliveries
  • Christmas Gifts – currently Shortbread and Calendars
  • Cards on special birthdays and anniversaries
  • Open Door Days – at LARCH Leith Walk (formerly Pilrig St Paul’s)
  • Care Van – run in conjunction with Bethany Trust which provides support to homeless people

Training will be given as required (such as Bereavement training) and members will be well-supported.
